BRITISH

NOTE: The items described as being from a display and having one or two holes in
one side of the case were part of a large collection that had been displayed by the 
previous owner. The cases had been drilled and the powder removed prior to
attaching to a backboard. Because of the wood and paper used in the display 
cases, the lead bullets were showing the effects of oxidation, which would have
eventually ruined the cartridges had the displays been left intact. The cartridges
listed here are the ones that I did not need for my own collection. They display
well, as the holes are in one side of the case only, and would be perfect for
anyone planning a display of their own, or wanting to section a cartridge to show
its internal construction. Since they are inert, they can be shipped anywhere in the 
world. Please note: only the cartridges described as being from a display are inert;
all of the other cartridges are intact and original.

           cartridges that were altered by the National Cartridge Company of Toronto by cutting off the round 
           nose of the Mark VI bullet jacket and reforming the lead core to form a soft nose bullet for sporting
           use; these bullets were found to be dangerous, because open base bullet allowed the lead core to 
           blow out of the  jacket, leaving the jacket behing in the bore of the rifle; as a result of this problem,
           inventory of these cartridges were condemned by the Canadian Government, and it is thought that
           most of the ammunition was destroyed; cartridges in the National Cartridge Company boxes tend to
           have mixed headstamps ranging from 1907 to 1912; this cartridge is from an original box of 20; a
