PISTOL Item # / Description / Head stamp / Price per Cartridge 6561 .11 Whatzit, lead round ball, copper case, head stamp 'W', appears to be a necked rim fire cartridge but is actually someone's idea of a joke, made from a Winchester old style No. 4 shot shell primer (this makes it a center fire!) with a number 6 shot as the bullet. At one point, it was thought that a pistol existed that fired this thing, but one has never turned up. It is rather cute; a cartridge collection could never be considered complete without one of these $1.00 12031 .22 Remington Jet, copper jacketed soft point, nickel primer, head stamp R-P 22 REM CFM, the 22 CFM stands for 22 Center Fire Magnum, the name of the cartridge early in production $8.00 12177 .22 TCM (Tuason Craig Micromagnum), semi-pointed copper jacketed soft point, nickel primer, head stamp AP 22 TCM $2.00 8260 .221 Remington Fireball, pointed copper jacket with polymer tip, brass primer, head stamp R-P 221 REM FIREBALL $2.00 10441 .221 Remington Fireball, 50 grain pointed copper jacket soft point, brass primer, h/s R-P 221 REM FIREBALL $2.00 10442 .221 Remington Fireball, 50 grain pointed copper jacket soft point, brass primer, h/s R-P 221 REM $1.50 9718 .221 Remington Fireball, 50 grain pointed copper jacket soft point, copper primer, h/s R-P 221 REM $1.50 11534 .25 Automatic (ACP), nickel full metal jacket, case, copper primer, head stamp D W M $1.25 11532 .25 Automatic (ACP), tinned full metal jacket, case cannelure, copper primer, head stamp PETERS .25 A.C.P. $1.25 9633 .25 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, brass primer, head stamp norma 25ACP $1.00 1047 .25 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp REM-UMC 25-6.35m/m $0.75 11535 .25 Automatic (ACP), tinned (worn) full metal jacket, brass primer with US monogram, head stamp U.S.C.CO. .25 C.A. $1.00 10027 .25 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp WESTERN 25 AUTO $0.75 10026 .25 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp REM-UMC 25 AUTO $0.75 9710 .25 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp W.R.A.Co. 25 AUTO $1.25 9710 .25 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp W.R.A.Co. 25 AUTO $1.25 12176 .25 NAA (Noth American Arms)flat nose copper jacket hollow point, nickel primer, head stamp C-B 25 NAA $2.00 735 .30 Luger, nickel jacket soft point, nickel primer, head stamp REM-UMC 30 LUGER $1.00 2416 .30 Luger, copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp WESTERN .30 LUGER $1.00 7650 .30 Luger, copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp W-W 30 LUGER $1.00 10525 .32 Automatic (ACP) movie blank, extended length (.930"+) case with 8 segment star crimp with red selant at tip, nickel primer with red sealant, no head stamp, from a Winchester-Western Division Oliin Mathieson Chem Corp box labeled on the end flap 50 / 32 AUTO / EMPTY PRIMED SHELLS / PLAIN HEADS, overlabel reads 50 .32 COLT Automatic Pistol 50 / CAUTION - Blanks dangerous within 20 feet / FLASH POWDER BLANKS / SPECIAL AUTO LONG / Stembridge Gun Rentals FULL Load + / WARNING - KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, these blanks required the extended case to allow them to feed properly from the magazine of a semi-automatic pistol, these boxes will sometimes be found with the word 'CUT' added to the labels indicating that the cases had been shortened prior to crimping to allow the blanks to function in pistols that had short ejection ports $1.00 10342 .32 Automatic (ACP), nickel full metal jacket, copper primer, head stamp PETERS .32 A.C.P. $0.75 924 .32 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp PETERS .32 A.C.P. $0.75 926 .32 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp PETERS 32 ACP $0.75 10341 .32 Automatic (ACP), nickel jacket soft point, copper primer marked U, h/s REM-UMC 32 ACP $0.50 10342 .32 Automatic (ACP), nickel full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp REM-UMC 32-7.65M/M $0.50 940 .32 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp REM-UMC 32-7.65M/M $0.50 3304 .32 Automatic (ACP), copper full metal jacket, nickel primer, head stamp R-P 32 AUTO $0.50 10344 .32 Automatic (ACP), nickel full metal jacket marked W, case cannelure, nickel primer, head stamp W.R.A.Co. .32 A.C. $ 0.75 991 .32 Automatic (ACP), nickel full metal jacket marked W, case cannelure, copper primer, head stamp W.R.A.Co. .32 A.C. $ 0.75 993 .32 Automatic (ACP), nickel full metal jacket marked W, copper primer marked W, head stamp W.R.A.Co. .32 A.C. $ 0.75 10677 .32 Automatic (ACP) Exploder, aluminum? Neither of the purchasing companies is known to have ever produced a paper sabot cartridge; Winchester continued to produce shot cartridges under its patent for the extended length cartridge case and UMC continued to produce shot cartridges under its patent for the hollow shot filled wood bullet. $2.50 10839 .32 Smith & Wesson, round nose ungrooved lead, copper primer, bevel rim head, no headstamp, from very early '(1880-ish) 2 piece box labeled for Smith & Wesson's New 32 Automatic Ejecting Revolver, which could be referring to the .32 Model 1 1/2 Single Action that was made beginning in 1878 or the New Model 32 No 1 1/2 Double Action revolver that was introduced in 1880, these being the first Smith & Wesson .32 center fire revolvers that automatically ejected all of the cartridges (oe spent cases) when the the barrel assembly was unlatched and pivoted downward $5.00 5084 .32 Smith & Wesson (2 items), round nose lead and paper wad blank, copper primer, both head stamped S & W 32 (Germany), from display, hole in side of each case, otherwise very good condition $1.00 89 .32 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer, head stamp D.C. C. Hobbs' Oct 31st, 1876 patent primer $6.00 9582 .38 Short center fire blank, gray-blue paper wad at case mouth, taper crimp, copper primer, folded head, head stamp G.R.A.G. .38 S., from a box labeled 'KEENFIRE 38 CAL. CENTER FIRE BLANKS Manufactured by KEYSTONE CARTRIDGE COMPANY Austria', The head stamp indicates that these blanks were actually made by the Austrian ammunition maker Georg Roth. The letters G.R.A.G stand for Georg Roth A G, the stock company for G. Roth that was formed in 1908. This is a rare head stamp which may have been used only for exported ammunition; regardless, it was used for a very limited number of calibers and for only a short period of time. The box label indicates that the cartridges were made to fit all 38 caliber center fire revolvers. This is probably correct; with the base and neck measuring .378" and the rim .428", the cartridges should be a good fit for most of the .38 revolver cartridges that were in use in the early 1900s except possibly the .38 S&W and the .38 New Police, for which they would be slightly loose but still serviceable since the low pressure resulting when these blanks are fired should not cause any serious issues. $2.00 620 .38 Short Colt, 2 groove lead, nickel primer, head stamp REM-UMC 38 SHORT $0.75 1948 .38 Short Colt, 1 groove lead, copper primer, head stamp U.M.C. 38.SHORT. $1.00 10831 .38 Short Colt, round nose 2 knurl lead, copper primer, case cannelure. head stamp U.S.C.Co. 32 S.C. $1.00 3449 .38 Short Colt, 1 groove 1 knurl copper plated lead, nickel primer, WESTERN 38 SHORT COLT $0.75 11291 .38 Short Colt, round nose 1 knurl 1 narrow groove lead, small (# 1 1/2 copper primer. head stamp W.R.A.CO. 38 S. from two piece half split black powder box with green top label and orange side sealiing label, lacking date codes and marked center fire rather than central fire, made about 1900 $2.00 12193 .38 Short Colt, oxidized round nose 1 knurl 1 narrow groove lead, small copper primer.marked W, head stamp W.R.A.CO. 38 S. ,$1.00 625 .38 Short Colt, belted lead, nickel primer, head stamp WRA 38 S $0.75 9546 .38 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer, head stamp S & W 38, probably German $0.75 1522 .38 Smith & Wesson, lead, small flat copper primer, head stamp '.38 S & W' $0.75 133 .38 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer, head stamp APC .38.S& W. $0.75 1546 .38 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer, head stamp D.C.Co. 38 S.& W. $1.50 5152 .38 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer, D.C.Co. 38 S.& W. , from display, 2 holes in one side of case, otherwise very good condition $1.00 4030 .38 Smith & Wesson, lead, copper primer, head stamp D.C.Co. 38 S & W. The PGU- 12B was developed for the purpose of providing the Air Force police with a higher velocity cartridge than the M41, the standard issue .38 Special cartridge at the time; After development and testing, the PGU-12B was released for full scale production to commence in the summer of 1975. Production was initially contracted by the Western Cartridge Company, but as a result of unhappiness with tightened government quality specifications and ballistics requirements, none of the qualified commercial ammunition makers submitted bids on the contract for the planned production for fiscal year 1979. As a result, in October of 1978, the Army switched excess .30 carbine and 5.56mm production equipment at the Lake City Arsenal over to production of the PGU-12B cartridge. This was not only the first .38 Special ammunition made in quantity at a U.S. government arsenal since 1915, but was also the only pistol ammunition to be produced at the Lake City Arsenal.
